SCULPTURES

For me sculpture has always been a dream I couldn't fulfil, because I lacked the courage to tackle such a different material... When, years ago, the Circolo dei Sambenedettesi commissioned the seagull monument, I actually started working on sculpture. .... I started out on preparatory works for the monument using large blocks of polystyrene. It was then that I realised that this material is so pliable and great to work on with a hot metal blade... So I started to model these seagulls I'd seen and realised that sculpture offered previously inconceivable opportunities, especially because it's in three dimensions. In other words, I could literally get my hands on what I'd been dreaming about.
