SCENOGRAPHY

... I met a dance teacher who introduced me to the appeal of dance and the stage, of theatre. Not theatre as seen by a spectator, but from within the stage.
So, talking to this teacher, Caterina Ricci, from Ascoli, we agreed on a collaboration: she was preparing a ballet on seagulls. I got excited and said I would do the set for her. And, in fact, I painted huge canvases, and we performed the ballet, which was also rather successful. We then moved on to another set design for 'L'uomo e il mare' (Man and the Sea). I created the entire scenography. From that, we progressed to 'Giselle', and in this case, I had to study the complete story of ‘Giselle’. However, I got so excited that I created a very complex, beautiful scenography.

"GISELLE"

"I GABBIANI"
"L'UOMO E IL MARE"
"GLI OLIVASTRI DI TORRE MILETO"

Lastly, I even created a ballet: 'Gli olivastri di Torre Mileto’ (The olive trees of Torre Mileto).
Being at Torre Mileto, in contact with those transfigured trees, which look like they are dancing, trees that are suffering because they are being lashed by the weather, by the crosswind on that beach, and the strength they show and the desire to survive, made me think of a dramatic ballet.
So, I created the story, then I did the set design and we held the premiere at the 'Giordano' theatre in Foggia, which was very successful.
